Progress update:
The Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) commissioned research to map tranquillity in England. The methodology used involved asking people what they think tranquillity is, what enhances it and detracts from it and how important those factors are to them. People, landscape and noise are key themes. The results, reported in 2005, include national and regional maps.
