Progress update:

The National Park Authority supported the 2007 Dales Harvest Food Festival at Hawes.

The Dales Festival of Food and Drink, held annually at Leyburn since 2003, is a major event celebrating local produce and farming.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority’s Sustainable Development Fund has supported several projects using or promoting local products and produce including a Yorkshire and Humber Sustainable Food Education Officer who’s been working with Dales schools; the Food Barn, a catering facility promoting and marketing local food; and projects producing and marketing sheepskin rugs, wool throws, and charcoal.

The Regional Food Group has been working with Yorkshire Forward to develop a sub-regional programme to support local producers using The Rural Development Programme for England funding.
