By 2008 put in place appropriate arrangements to ensure land managers have access to comprehensive and co-ordinated business and environmental advice for their enterprises.
Progress update:
The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) was launched in Yorkshire & Humber in April 2008. Yorkshire Forward is responsible for the socio-economic elements of the programme. As part of the support to businesses, Business Link Yorkshire gives business advice, including rural business start-ups. Natural England is responsible for delivering the environmental elements of the RDPE, and from 2008/09 will deliver the DEFRA Farm Advice Contract, which will offer advice to farmers on environmental schemes. Within the National Park, the YDNPA Farm & Countryside Service works with Natural England to assist in delivering the advice to farmers on environmental schemes.
