Progresss update EE2

Target priority economic sectors that use and reinforce the National Park’s assets (notably the creative industries, food and drink, culture, heritage, education, health and eco-tourism), to diversify the local economy, and promote the Dales as a dynamic area that is welcoming to ‘low impact’ business, supports innovation and offers a healthy and attractive lifestyle.

Progress update:

The private sector representation on the Tourism Partnership Executive board provides an advocacy role within the business community.  Working with the Regional Development Agency and reflecting the aspiration of the Regional Economic Strategy, the Tourism Partnership has developed an action plan to increase the visitor economy.  The Tourism Partnership will work with the tourism and cultural industries to build and develop a high quality brand.  The new website for the Tourism Partnership will reinforce the links with the healthy outdoor activities and promote businesses in achievement (for example, Moutain Bike Trails, Cycle the Dales and Outdoor Yorkshire microsites)
