Progress update:
Through the Yorkshire Dales Leader programme, a 'Farmer Network' was established in 2009. It is now helping to co-ordinate advice from a variety of sources, including Business Link Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority's ‘Farm & Countryside Service’. The latter is now also providing advice on more sustainable agricultural practice for farmers in the Semer Water, Lune and Ribble catchments as part of the England Catchment Sensitive Farming initiative. These programmes are co-ordinated with the more general provision of environmental land management advice by Natural England across the Park.
