Progress update:

Sustainable living action groups have been set up in all three districts of the National Park to progress the environmental objectives in the District Community Strategies.  All three groups have produced action plans which are at varying stages in their development.  Projects addressing issues such as reducing energy use, climate change and waste management are being developed and implemented.  In North Yorkshire, successful funding bids have been made for projects dealing with climate change and waste management.  South Lakeland Environmental Task Group has produced a climate change sustainability appraisal to ensure any proposal made by their Local Srategic Partnership takes account of climate change.
