Telling the Planning Committee what you think
If you strongly support or object to an application you can come and address the Planning Committee at a public meeting. The procedure is as follows:
1) Chairman announces application
2) Planning officer presentation
3) Speakers for and against the application
4) Debate and decision by Planning Committee
As a member of the public you can speak for up to three minutes. Where a number of individuals or a group wishes to speak for or against an application they should agree a spokesperson who can speak on their behalf. There will be no questioning of speakers by members of the Planning Committee, or vice versa. The Chairman may ask questions of a speaker in order to clarify issues. If you think you would like to speak to the Planning Committee about a particular planning application you will need to register that you wish to speak by noon on the day before the day of the meeting. Please get in touch with the Planning Service to find out more.
How to find out what was decided
You can find out details of what was decided and view a scanned copy of the decision notice which shows whether there were any conditions on the planning permission or what the reasons for refusal were by using the application search screen.
