Search and view planning applications
Please note that we are currently experiencing intermittent technical difficulties with the planning applications search that cause the drop-down boxes for selecting Parish and Week ending to disappear. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to return the facility to full availability as soon as possible.
If you experience difficulties with the system (as described or otherwise), it would be very helpful if you could please let the Web Officer know by emailing stuart.willis@yorkshiredales.org.uk.
If you wish to comment on an application currently being processed, please email planning@yorkshiredales.org.uk, if possible quoting the application number, or else including as much information as you can relating to the location of the development.
This Search Facility enables you to search and view the following information relating to any planning application registered since 1 December 2005:-
- The progress of all applications
- Copies of plans and documents accompanying planning applications (available within 5 working days of receipt)
- View the decision notices issued by the Authority
- Submit your comments electronically about individual applications
Please note that to use the search facility you must tick the box to confirm that you agree to the terms and conditions of its use. These refer to the copyright of material and may be viewed at the bottom of this page or by following the link in the search box.
The search facility is updated daily between 4.30pm and 5.30pm and its use may be limited between these times.
Guidance notes on commenting on a planning application.
NB Only limited information is available online for applications C/49/603B and C/49/603C at Dry Rigg Quarry, Helwith Bridge as the file sizes are very large. The full documents may be viewed at Bainbridge, by appointment.
NB There is no legal requirement to submit plans with applications to replace extant permissions.
Determined applications
Should you require information on a determined application that is not available online, you can view the file at our offices, by appointment, however, should you require copies of information then you will need to submit a Freedom of Information Act request in writing.
As well as viewing planning applications using the search facility above, copies of current applications are normally held by Parish Clerks or can be viewed by appointment during normal office hours at our offices.
By putting up site notices, notifying neighbours and advertising some applications in the local newspapers we try to ensure that people who may be affected are aware of an application for planning permission. Relevant groups or agencies are also asked to comment on every application.
If you see an application for planning permission that you wish to support or object to, please write to the planning department or complete our electronic comments form available through the search facility above. Please note that the Authority is obliged to make any correspondence received about an application available for inspection by the public.
While the more contentious applications are determined by the National Park Authority Planning Committee, straightforward applications are dealt with in-house by the Head of Planning. These are called delegated decisions.
Members of the public who support or object to planning applications that are being determined by the Planning Committee are welcome to address the Planning Committee in person. To find out more about this procedure and about how the Authority makes planning decisions, visit our Planning Committee page.
