Terms and conditions (telephone and postal orders)

• All prices include postage. Note that to simplify ordering postage is charged per item even if you order several items at the same time. Details are shown on the Publications order form. All items can also be bought by visiting any of our National Park Centres in person, where a further selection of books, maps and souvenirs is also available.
• All items will be sent by first class post.

A 32 page illustrated booklet in the Yorkshire Dales Topic series written by Tony Waltham. It describes the formation of the famous limestone scenery of the Yorkshire Dales both above and below ground (publication date 1987).



Aysgarth Falls (£2.70)
A 32 page illustrated booklet in the Yorkshire Dales Topic series written by Geoffrey N Wright. It contains a comprehensive description of the history and geology of this popular visitor site (publication date 1991).



Geology (£2.70)
A 32 page illustrated booklet written by Albert Wilson. A general introduction to the fascinating and varied geology of the Yorkshire Dales National Park (publication date 1992).

Conservation Leaflet Pack (£ 3.49)
A pack of seven fold out illustrated leaflets from our Conservation series. Topics include 'Malham & Malham Tarn'; 'Limestone Scenery'; 'Mammals & Reptiles'; 'Walls & Field Barns; 'Grassland & Moorland' and 'Birds' (various publication dates).

Childrens Activity Pack (£3.99)
A pack of fun things for children to do on a rainy day. There are masks and mobiles to make, pictures and postcards to colour and games and quizzes.








Birds Of Conservation Concern (£2.59)
A 67 page illustrated booklet written by Ian Court. An authoritative description of the 27 birds that are of conservation concern in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (publication date 2000)

Lead Mining (£1.25)
A 6 page illustrated booklet about this important historic industry in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (publication date 2000).




Limestone Pavement (£4.45)
A 36 page booklet  illustrated throughout in colour written by Tim Thom. The first in our Nature in the Dales Habitat Information Series. It describes the formation of limestone pavement and the wildlife associated with it along with current threats and the work undertaken by the Authority and others in order to conserve it (publication date 2005).


Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way (£2.49)
A set of 6 laminated cards contained in a plastic wallet, one of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Trail series. Each card has a map and a description of a section of the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way. Together they cover the whole of this popular circular route which is 210km long and takes in some of the most characteristic scenery of this National Park (publication date 1998).

Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (£1.25)
10 page illustrated fold out leaflet. The trail described is 8km long and takes in the spectacular Ingleton Glens waterfalls. The leaflet describes the geology and wildlife likely  to be seen on the trail (publication date 2002).




Sedgwick Geological Trail (£1.25)
10 page illustrated fold out leaflet. The trail described is 1.5km long and explores the fascinating geology surrounding the Dent Fault in Garsdale and is named after the important geologist Adam Sedgwick who was  born in 1785 in Dent (publication date 2002).



Malham Landscape Trail (£1.25)
10 page illustrated fold out leaflet. The trail described is about 7km long and takes in the popular visitor sites of Malham Cove, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar. The leaflet also covers the geology of these spectacular features along with some of the wildlife and farming to be seen along the way (publication date 2002).



Aysgarth Falls & Woodland Trail (£1.25)
10 page illustrated fold out leaflet. The trail described is about 1.5km long and runs through Freeholders' Wood with views of the Middle and Lower Falls. The leaflet also covers the geological formation of the falls and the wildlife of the woodland (publication date 2000).

Walks around Reeth - Healaugh and Grinton Circulars (£0.95)
6 page illustrated fold out leaflet. The two circular routes both start and finish in Reeth, a small town in Swaledale. The Healaugh route is about 5km long and the Grinton route is 3.5km (publication date 2003).

6 page illustrated fold out leaflet. The route that runs from Reeth below Fremington Edge is about 3.25km long and the Grinton route is 3.5km (publication date 2003).

Hawes to Thorney Mire (£1.25)
6 page illustrated fold out leaflet. A 7km circular walk starting and ending in Hawes the main town in Upper Wensleydale (publication date 2000).

The Yorkshire Dales: A Landscape Through Time (£16.29)
128 page illustrated soft back book written by Robert White, Senior Conservation Archaeologist with The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority. This introduction to the archaeology and landscape history of the Yorkshire Dales ranges from the geological background to the industrial archaeology of the twentieth century. It focusses on the human role in the creation of the landscape and is aimed at the general reader (publication date 2002).

The Yorkshire Dales: A 50th anniversary celebration of the National Park (£22.99)
144 page illustrated hard back book written by David Joy. The Yorkshire Dales National Park was designated in 1954 and this is a wonderful souvenir of last 50 years. It is beautifully illustrated with photographs and paintings and has contributions from lovers of the Dales such as David Bellamy and Alan Titchmarsh (publication date 2004).
