Marsh Hawk’s-beard

Common Name: Marsh Hawk’s-beard

Latin Name: Crepis paludosa

Family: Asteraceae (Daisy family)

Marsh hawk’s-beard is a tall yellow flowered plant that superficially looks similar to the dandelion. In the British Isles this species grows in wet areas in open woodland, grassland and fens. It is frequent in northern England. In the Yorkshire Dales National Park this plant is common in the upper parts of dales where drainage is limited in shady marshes, flushes and wooded river valleys.
