Education events at the Dales Countryside Museum
The Dales Countryside Museum is an important facility for everyone who wants to learn more about the Yorkshire Dales National Park. To find out more about current educational provision and facilities here, please visit the relevant section of our website by clicking on this link to the Museum Education Service.
Organising your own visit
The National Park is home to a host of visitor attractions, activity providers, field work sites, etc. many of which are of interest for education groups. Take a look at our Teacher’s Pack for background information and contact the Outreach & Education Team to discuss your needs and find out whether we can help you to plan your visit.
Outreach
The Outreach Programme works to promote the opportunities the National Park has to offer, to community groups from a wider range of backgrounds than those which currently visit the Park. Efforts are focused on how best to do this: a number of programmes are being developed and a ‘promotional’ DVD and leaflet ‘Yours to Explore’ have been produced. For more information about the project and organising a visit contact the Outreach & Education Team.
Events
Each year the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority runs a varied and exciting programme of events for the general public. Participants can take a guided walk and learn more about the history and wildlife of the Dales, learn landscape photography or spend the day foraging for wild fungi. Find out more by visiting our Things to Do page.
Learning in Limestone Country
A partnership project aiming to make the beauties of 'Limestone Country' in the Yorkshire Dales more accessible to all. Includes day visits for local and urban schools and activities for community groups.
