Organising your own visit
The National Park is home to a host of visitor attractions, activity providers, field work sites, etc. many of which are of interest for education groups. Take a look at our Teacher’s packs for background information and email the Area Ranger (Lead Role Education) to discuss your needs and find out whether we can help you to plan your visit.
The Outreach Programme works to promote the opportunities the National Park has to offer, to community groups from a wider range of backgrounds than those which currently visit the Park. Efforts are focused on how best to do this: a number of programmes are being developed and a ‘promotional’ DVD and leaflet ‘Yours to Explore’ have been produced. For more information about the project and organising a visit email the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority .
Each year the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority runs a varied and exciting programme of events for the general public. Participants can take a guided walk and learn more about the history and wildlife of the Dales, learn landscape photography or spend the day foraging for wild fungi. Find out more by visiting our Events page.
