Local and Family History Drop-in Room and Local Study Room

If you are new to family history, please feel free to drop into our Local and Family History Room. There is no need to book as the room is open between 10am and 5pm and you are welcome to spend as long as you like browsing the information available in booklets and on the computer. You can also use the computer to browse our Out of Oblivion website (opens in new window) which is a great resource for finding out about the historic environment of the Yorkshire Dales.

Local Study Room in use at the MuseumOnce you're familiar with the types of records available to researchers, perhaps you would like to book in to use the Local Study Room which contains the Macfie & Calvert Trust archive, together with records and registers on microfilm.

To discuss your requirements or make an appointment to use the Local Study Room contact the Museum to find out more.
